Our hair replacement surgery fees are $5,000 or $5,500 per session depending on several factors:

extent of hair loss versus how much donor hair you have on the back of your head
color of your hair versus the color of your scalp skin
texture and character of each hair shaft
current stage of your balding process
your own expectations and goals

Dr. Ross and her surgical team thoroughly discuss these issues with you prior to initiating a hair restoration process so you know what your cost will be.

Estimating cost

This chart can be used to estimate the average total number of grafts necessary to meet realistic expectations in the majority of patients:

Approximate number of hair grafts needed In most cases we harvest a full strip of donor hair from the back of the head; it usually contains 1,800-2,200 grafts. (The number of grafts generated by a full strip will vary with your natural hair density.) When a smaller area is being grafted we remove a partial (3/4) donor strip that contains about 1,000 grafts. All the hair removed from the donor area will be utilized to your best advantage.

A common and unfortunate misconception is that hair restoration surgery is more expensive than using a hair system.

In addition, you must return to them to service your system about 8 times per year at $65 per visit. Your annual cost is $3,068 the first year, and $2,068 per year thereafter. Assuming they never raise their prices your lifetime cost is $63,040! Furthermore, this scenario means you live the remainder of your life, after 65, with no hair.

Now, let's consider restoring your hair surgically. We'll assume you have lost a lot of hair during your life, and will need to undergo 3 procedures. At $5,500 per session, and for a lifetime cost of $16,500. On top of that you are free from constant return visits for service and the hair is yours for all of your life!
